Kickoff to an Exciting 2024/2025 Season with KSEF

As we gear up for the 2024/2025 winter season at Kirkwood Mountain, I am thrilled to announce that our journey begins with a spectacular start in Chile. The FIS Alpine Ski World Cup has chosen Chile as the starting point for this year's competitive season, and it's shaping up to be a phenomenal event that will set the tone for what we hope to be another fantastic winter.

Chile: The Perfect Launchpad

The FIS Alpine Ski World Cup will be kicking off in the stunning Andes mountains of Chile. This year, South America is experiencing its snowiest start to the season in 30 years, promising an epic ski season. Early-season snowfall has been plentiful, with multiple storms blanketing resorts in Chile and Argentina. This choice of location is not only a testament to the world-class conditions available in Chile but also a nod to the global nature of our sport.

To seize this opportunity, Chile will host several races during July, August, September, and October. The first race to open the season will be at El Colorado, with two FIS GS on the 25th and 26th of July. These races are part of the Ford Chile Winter Series Visa, a snow sports circuit that includes several disciplines such as Para Alpine, Cross Country, Ski, and Snowboard Cross.

Chile Winter Series and the South American Cup circuit are thrilled to welcome athletes from all around the globe. They are hosting an exciting month of events that include a high level of competition and a South American style of camaraderie and racing. Jorge Mandru, chief of the Chile Winter Series, explained, “We are excited to open the 2024/2025 competitive season and to receive athletes from South America and the world. South American races are a platform for South American and world athletes to prepare for this 2024/2025 season and to share in the unique Cordillera de los Andes.” Last year, some of the best World Cup Teams raced here, and the conditions are world-class.

What This Means for KSEF

For the Kirkwood Ski Education Foundation, the start of the season in Chile is an exciting prelude to our own winter adventures. We are eagerly preparing to welcome our young skiers and riders back to Kirkwood Mountain, where they will have the opportunity to develop their skills, compete, and experience the joy of the sport we all love.

As we reflect on the past seasons, we can't help but feel optimistic about what lies ahead. The excitement of the FIS events in Chile is contagious, and it's inspiring our team to strive for excellence. We're committed to providing the best training and development programs to help our athletes reach their full potential.

Our New Website is Live!

I'm also excited to announce that our brand-new website has officially launched! We've been working hard to create a more engaging and user-friendly experience for our community. One of the key features we're most excited about is our new Weather Center page, specifically tailored for Kirkwood Mountain. This page offers detailed, up-to-the-minute weather information to help you plan your training and skiing activities more effectively.

Looking Ahead

As we look forward to the 2024/2025 season, our spirits are high, and our dedication to fostering a love for skiing and snowboarding is stronger than ever. We are ready to embrace the challenges and celebrate the victories that lie ahead. Let's kick off this season with enthusiasm, passion, and a shared commitment to excellence.

Stay tuned for more updates, and let's make this winter one for the books. Here's to a fantastic season at Kirkwood Mountain!
